People
say the best things in life are free - just like the air we are breathing every
day. However that statement seems to become questionable, at least in southern
China’s Guangdong Province, where locals prove that the “air-for-sell” scheme
is actually a legit one.
After days of smoggy weather in Guangdong Province, city dwellers flocked to the mountain side on Saturday for a breath of fresh air, but they were met with vendors literally selling fresh air.
Stalls with bags of “fresh air” were displayed for sale – vendors claimed to have collected the air from “the depths of the mountain.” “Purchasing clean air is purchasing a healthy life,” read one of the posters on the air bags.
Priced between 10 yuan and 30 yuan (1.5 – 4.6 US dollars), some tourists were seen buying these air bags and breathing fresh air which proves to be a luxury on smoggy days
