River State Re-run NIMASA Boss Escape Unhurt

The Department of State Security in Rivers state has thwarted an assassination attempt on Peterside Dakuku, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in last year’s guber election in the state and reportedly arrested Chukwuemeka Woke, the Chief of Staff to Governor Nyesom Wike for leading a killer squad in two Sport Utility Vehicles that trailed and opened fire on Mr. Dakuku. Peterside who was in his car with Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, Rivers State All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman and Hon. Asita Honourable, Deputy Governorship candidate of the APC in April 2015 election said they escaped the assassins bullets by a stroke of luck.
According to a press release issued by Mr. Dakuku’s office, the gunmen trailed him from Aba Road as he drove towards his house in the GRA area of Port Harcourt, but as his car made to turn towards the GRA entrance to his home, the gunmen drove aggressively hoping to overtake his car.
Mr. Dakuku then changed course and drove to the state headquarters of the DSS as his security aide had already radioed for help.
The Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, said this happened a few hours after the drama at the Mile One Police Station between Governor Nyesom Wike and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, over the INEC Collation Officer of Port Harcourt City
Local Government, PHALGA Ward 10.
Unidentified gunmen attacked the APC 2015 governorship candidate Sunday while driving in a convoy.
The NIMASA DG escaped unhurt but not so for his police orderly who was shot and is currently fighting for his life at a hospital.
